Communication Preparedness is the 10th Principle of Preparedness.  I realize that I haven’t addressed this topic as extensively as I have the nine other principles, but the truth is, it’s not my forte.

2.4 BILLION of these are purchased every year.  They are a critical part of our society, not likely to disappear even in the midst of the most gruesome of disasters. In fact, the more serious the disaster, the more needed these items will be.

99% of them are made in China.

More than 90%  of ALL of the materials needed by the handful of U.S. manufacturers come from overseas.

Is Martial Law Imminent in the first quarter of 2013? Well there certainly is plenty of such hearsay going around. I can't even begin to tell you all of the e-mails I get with the same alarming headlines each day from readers and newsfeeds. Well, here's my simple take on all of this.

Sunday Dinner--Eggplant Ratatouille

  I try not to do much on Sundays. I try to make it stand out as very different from the other days of the week; no work related activities, no activities that require others to work, etc. But that doesn’t mean that I am willing sit down and relax with my husband at a dinner time over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. No sirreee… It’s still gotta be tasty but without a lot of fuss and clean up.
