Ladies, here is the detailed information for the Feminine Fortress (Rape Prevention) class that I’m teaching at the end of the month while Marie Claire Magazine is here to write a piece on The Preparedness Pro/Women of Caliber. This will be the full rape prevention class, not the abridged version. This is LOW IMPACT in terms of physical requirements but HIGH impact in terms of usable tactics and strategies for real life scenarios. That’s not to say you won’t be doing some physical work; yes, you will break a sweat, no doubt. But if I have to heal from this blasted surgery in time to teach this, then you can huff and puff a little bit to learn it. *grin*
When “Doomsday Preppers” was filmed we were able to do only a small portion of this class and all of the women were very complimentary of what we were able to teach in that small amount of time. I can honestly say it will be different than any self-defense class you’ve ever attended, Ladies. And yes, this will be JUST for the ladies ages 12 and up. Sorry, no hubbies or boyfriends hovering around. I’ve got to be sensitive to the women who are taking the class and we found it’s just better to not have the menfolk there.
There is limited space available, of course, and I know that there are a couple of organizations that are trying to bring their Young Women’s group to this event. So please register soon so that you get to take advantage of this.
There have been several donations for scholarships so that there aren’t any women who aren’t able to attend because of a lack of funds. So please do NOT miss this self-defense class for that purpose. Simply ask for the scholarship. The rest of you who are able to pay, the profits for your tuition from this particular class are earmarked to pay for at-risk women and young girls to attend a private class instructor for them. So thank you in advance in taking charge of what happens to you AND benefiting other women while doing so.
If you want to make a fun road trip of it, be sure to get here the day before and attend the professional culinary class I’ll be teaching for the prestigious Thanksgiving Point in their Emporium Kitchen. I get to teach my favorite cooking topic–Gourmet Pressure Cooking! Oh you won’t believe what can be done in a only a few moments of controlled pressure. Yum! Just register here. (Sorry, no scholarships available for this class)
Be sure to spread the word. I love, love, love it when I’m able to see so many of you face to face at these events!

I would love to be able to attend but I am currently unemployed and had to spend 2/3 of my Social Security payment on a new fridge (that I dislike intensly – it’s too small).
But, I wish everyone a fantastic time and a lot of luck. Maybe I’ll be able to attend one of your future classes.
P.S.: Get well soonest!

Kellene, thank you for doing what you do, you’re a wealth if inspiration to all of us. Speaking of “Doomsday Preppers”…are you going to be featured in season two? Personally, I can’t wait.
ps. Hope you’re feeling better.

Recovery is going just fine. Thank you.
I won’t be in Season 2. There are other things on the horizon though not the least of which are the 3 books I get to work on.
they are making some significant changes though as a result of the feedback they got on Season 1.

Having been part of the class for the doomsday preppers show I would recommend anyone who is at all concerned about personal safety to go. It was an exceptional class and empowering to your own abilities and capabilities. I am taking care of a new grandbaby and won’t be able to attend but highly recommend the class.

Do you know of any of these types of classes in the Southeast? I live in Pensacola Florida and would like to attend a class.

Kellene,
Hi. I just tried to register and ran into problems. 🙁 The e-wallet page wouldn’t let me credit an account. Do you still have spaces available? I would love to attend this class with my daughter. Any suggestions
Kellene Bishop · June 27, 2012 at 8:15 pm
Yes, I still have 6 spaces, Kimber. Just e- mail me directly at director at womenofcaliber dot com and I’ll take care of you and you can just bring your registration to the class on Friday. Sorry for the techno hassle. I have no idea what to do for that. 🙁
