Hello, my name is Seth Ives, a 12 year old 7th grader in Albuquerque New Mexico that is prepping out of my bedroom.
As you can see I have a variety of items, but I have more than what you see. On the top I have my food/water and items to prepare them. In the middle I have miscellaneous. On the left I have lighting and fire preparations. On the left I have first aid. And on the bottom I have 3 water and fire proof containers ( lock&lock, at rather nice prices.) The biggest part being my food. This is one of many M.R.E.’s, both homemade and normal ( homemade is full of dehydrated pineapple, tuna, wild rice, juice packets, ice tea packets, and M&M’s. Along with utensils, then it is vacuum packed.)
Other preparations I have made are- a range of weapons including knives, bow and arrows, and guns. A variety of camouflage. Information on my surrounding environmentally. Information on shelter, food, and protection. I bow hunt. And my family currently owns 45 acres in Oregon next to crater lake, and 5 acres in Washington.
My family is very wide. My step-father is an mechanic and an EXTREMELY great inventor. My mother and father are ex-military. My grandmother is not a prepper but is self reliant. Teaching me how to reload my own bullets, coupon, prepare food, farm, and HAM radio. Being rich she can help me create what I want. I am currently trying to create a system of prepared teenagers ready to live until the end. So I have many back up plans.

It’s great to see the younger generation isn’t completely lost. There is still hope. Share your skills and knowledge with others. 🙂 Great article!

Thanks you guys! Its hard being a prepper. I mean. People say ” Oh. I have all that stuff at home!” And ” Your crazy.” But. Its people like us that make the world go round and round. Because. When it all hits the fan. Look whos going to be living it up with the good life. And i think the thought of my family in that situation of hunger and depression is what keeps me going 😉

Way to go Seth, hope you win something.
Have you ever heard of theFoxfire books? Published in 1970’s, lots of fun and good info.
I have lived in New Mexico and there is a lot you can learn from the Native American’s there. Gallup Has a great library lots of books on native foods.
Good luck.

I’m so glad that you are prepping Seth! You younger ones are humanities hope for the future. Getting friends that wish to learn will be a great help to you as you will be able to share your gathered information and have each others back when times get bad.
Good Luck
